Mumbai, October 8: The official results of the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 have been declared, revealing a decisive victory for the BJP, which secured 48 seats. The Congress followed with 37 seats, while the Indian National Lok Dal (IND) managed to win 2 seats. As the counting of votes progressed, it became clear that the BJP had achieved a hat-trick of wins in the state, while the Congress's attempts to wrest power were unsuccessful. As the results were finalized, LatestLY compiled a list of leading candidates from the Congress, BJP, JJP, and other parties. All 90 assembly seats in Haryana went to polls on October 5. Following the voting, most of the exit polls predicted a comeback of the Congress party and end of the 10-year-long BJP rule in the state. The Haryana results will decide fate of more than 1,000 candidates including Chief Minister and BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini, Congress veteran Bhupinder Singh Hooda and wrestler-turned-politician Vinesh Phogat. In 2019 Haryana assembly polls, the BJP emerged as the single largest party by winning 40 of the 90 seats, six short of simple majority. Eventually, the BJP formed the government in a post-poll alliance with Dushyant Chautala's JJP, which bagged 10 seats, and seven Independent MLAs. The Congress remained out of power with 31 seats. One seat each was won by the Haryana Lokhit Party and Indian National Lok Dal.
