As per The Indian Express, Harshit is expected to make his debut at Wankhede Stadium on Friday. Earlier, Rana was part of India's reserve pool of bowlers and later released to play Ranji Trophy 2024-25 for Delhi, where he shone against Assam in their third-round clash.

In nine First-Class matches, Harshit has managed to claim 36 wickets, which include three four-wicket hauls, and scored 410 runs, including a 122 not out. Meanwhile, India will want to deny New Zealand a series white-wash and look to play for pride and go into the all-important BGT 2024-25 high in confidence.
