Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit also extended his greetings on the occasion of International Women's Day. Purohit said, "I extend my best wishes and greeting on the occasion of International Women's Day. An ideal society is one where men and women play an equal and significant role."

To celebrate this day, Google has also dedicated a doodle for International Women's Day 2019. The doodle consists slideshow of quotes by successful women around the world.
