Kupwara , March 3: An exchange of fire continued between terrorists and security forces in Babagund village of Langate area of Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district for the third day on Sunday. Two terrorists were killed in the fierce gunfight between security forces and militants. Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and two Jammu and Kashmir police personnel have lost their lives so far. The operation is currently underway. A civilian was killed in subsequent clashes between the militants and security forces. The civilian who was killed was identified as Waseem Ahmad Mir. Reports inform that two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area. According to a report by ANI, the encounter broke out between the security forces and terrorists in the wee hours of Friday.No causalities have been reported so far. Reports quote Police saying that at there is no clarity about how many terrorists have been killed or still hiding in the building. However, search operation is going on. On Saturday, Indian Army chief, Gen Bipin Rawat reviewed the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) in Jammu region. According to a defence statement, Gen. Rawat, accompanied by Northern Command chief, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, visited the Nagrota-based White Knight Corps to review the operational preparedness of the forces in view of the current situation along the LoC and the IB.
