Haldwani, September 1: A 16-year-old girl student from a private school in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, has accused her teacher of sexual harassment. The girl alleges that the teacher molested her and sent his nude pictures to her via WhatsApp and Snapchat. The shocking incident came to light when the student confided in her parents, who promptly reported the matter to the police.
Haldwani circle officer Nitin Lohani confirmed the complaint, stating, “A teacher at a private school in Haldwani had been sending lewd messages to a student on social media. NDTV reported that the accused teacher, who taught at the same school, allegedly caused mental trauma to the student through his actions. The student’s parents, with the support of social organisations, filed a complaint at the Kotwali police station. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway, and the teacher will face legal consequences for his actions. The news comes to light after a nurse was raped and killed while she was returning from a private hospital in Uttarakhand to her home near the Uttar Pradesh border.
The woman had left the hospital on the evening of July 30 and was seen taking an e-rickshaw from Indra Chowk in Rudrapur in CCTV footage but did not reach her rented accommodation on Kashipur Road in Uttar Pradesh's Bilaspur where she stayed with her 11-year-old daughter.
Her sister later filed a missing complaint. Eight days later on August 8, the Uttar Pradesh police found her body in an empty plot, nearly 1.5 km from her house in Dibdiba village.
