Guwahati, July 4: In a surprising turn of events, Panbazar Police in Assam’s Guwahati have released Priyanka Tamuly, the prime accused in a fatal hit-and-run accident near Handique College, after hours of questioning. Tamuly is the wife of a senior Journalist. The incident, which occurred on Saturday near the Dighali Pukhuri area, resulted in the death of Bhargab Jyoti Barman, a bank employee from Sarupeta, Bajali district.

According to a Pratidin Time report, the accident initially appeared to be a case of the victim's two-wheeler ramming into a divider.
