Gurugram Traffic Police Imposes Rs 59,000 Fine on Trolley Driver for Drunken Driving Under Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019, Cops in Bhubaneswar and Bengaluru Follow Suit

A day after the Union government implemented the new Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, reports of massive traffic fines been imposed on people are coming. In the latest, three separate incidents of hefty fines are coming to light from Gurugram, Bhubaneswar and Bengaluru. People have been fined Rs 59,000, Rs 47,500 and Rs 17,000 respectively.

New Delhi, September 4: A day after the Union government implemented the new Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, reports of massive traffic fines been imposed on people are coming. In the latest, three separate incidents of hefty fines are coming to light from Gurugram, Bhubaneswar and Bengaluru. People have been fined Rs 59,000, Rs 47,500 and Rs 17,000 respectively. Gurugram Traffic Police Fines 3 Auto Drivers Rs 9,400, Rs 27,000 and Rs 37,000 Under New Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act

In Haryana's Gurugram, traffic police fined trolley driver Rs 59,000 for driving under the influence of alcohol and not carrying required documents. Also, three auto drivers were charged Rs 9,400, Rs 27,000 and Rs 37,000 as challan under various sections of newly implemented motor vehicle act.

Apart from this, in Odisha's Bhubaneswar, the traffic police issued a challan of Rs 47,500 for drunk driving and not carrying required documents. Regional Transport Office (RTO) said, "The provision is for any vehicle that violates the law, it doesn't matter whether the vehicle was bought for Rs 62,000 or Rs 2000."

While in Karnataka's Bengaluru, the traffic police caught a two-wheeler driver and fined Rs 17,000, Rs 10,000 for drunk driving. Also, two people were fined Rs 2000 for not wearing a helmet and Rs 5,000 for not having a driving license. Gurugram Traffic Police Fines Delhi Man Whopping Rs 23,000 For Riding Scooty Without Helmet And Documents Under New Motor Vehicles Act

This is the newest addition to the reports where the Gurugram Traffic Police have issued a whopping challan of Rs 23,000 to a scooty driver for violating the traffic rules and seized his vehicle. The Ministry of Road Transport notified the provisions of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019. The MVA was implemented from September 1.
