Gurgaon, March 7: After the IQAir Visual and Greenpeace's data termed Gurgaon, officially known as Gurugram, as 'the most polluted city in the world,' Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday said that the report is worrying and all of us are "concerned" about it. "It's a worrying report and all of us are concerned. I have asked Deputy Commissioner to call a meeting of the concerned departments within 2 days to discuss further steps that can be taken," said Khattar. A study by Swiss-based company IQAir Visual and Greenpeace showed that Gurugram in the NCR (National Capital Region) was the most polluted city in the world in 2018. The report also added that Delhi is the most polluted capital in the world. According to the data, seven of the top ten "polluted cities" in 2018 were in India, including Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Bhiwandi, Noida, Patna and Lucknow.
Meanwhile, it is worth to know that Karnal, which is Manohar Lal Khattar’s constituency is the cleanest city in Haryana and second cleanest in North India according to Swachh Survekshan-2019 findings.
