Gurugram, September 14: A 24-year-old woman who had honey-trapped and had demanded Rs 40 lakh from an automobile workshop owner was arrested here, police said on Saturday. The accused, Shivani Singh, was running a paying guest accommodation in sector 39 of the city with the victim's workshop located close to it.

Sulochana Gajraj, DCP of East zone, said that the accused woman befriended the victim and established a physical relationship with him. Pakistan Military Owned Media House Advertises for 'Honey Trap' Job, Posts Opening for Female Social Media Specialist Position on Fatima Jinnah Women University Website.

"The accused clicked pictures and videos of intimate physical relations and threatened to make them public if he did not pay her Rs 40 lakh. She also threatened to register a rape case on the basis of photographs and conversations between them over phone," Gajraj said.

As the victim expressed his inability to pay Rs 40 lakh in one go, Shivani told him to pay Rs 10 lakh now and the remaining Rs 30 lakh later.

"As it was a case of honey-trap, the victim approached Sadar police station and lodged a written complaint against her. We immediately formed a special team to nab her red handed. We asked the victim to arrange Rs 1 lakh to hand over to her," Gajraj said.

"After arranging Rs 1 lakh, the victim contacted Shivani and fixed a meeting point in sector 17. As per schedule, the police team was already deployed on the spot. When the victim reached there, Shivani who was already present took the packet containing Rs 1 lakh. The police team then nabbed her. The entire sequence of events was captured on video camera to have concrete proof and to make it easy to establish the guilt of Shivani in court," Gajraj said.

During interrogation, Shivani confessed that she befriended the victim some two months ago and established a physical relationship with him. She also accepted that she demanded Rs 40 lakh on the basis of intimate photographs. Shivani is a native of Farrukhabad in western UP and has been living in Gurugram for the last 4 to 5 years, the police added.
