Ahmedabad, August 4: A 57-year-old man in Gujarat forced her 55-year-old lover to get her two teeth removed so that "she doesn't attract another man". The man and the woman had been in a live-in relationship for the past 15 years. The woman, Geetaben, ran away from the man to escape his "tortures" on her on Wednesday.

According to a TOI report, the man, an autorickshaw driver, also asked his lover to not work as a domestic help. The woman while narrating her story to the women's helpline authorities also said that the man made her sit next to him in his autorickshaw all day as he drove passengers.

According to the report, the man and the woman fell in love 15 years ago and left their families to live with each other. However, it was only last year that the man's insecurities started taking over and he suspected Geetaben of seeing another man in the area they lived in. "He got opaque plastic sheets pasted on the windows and door so that nobody could see inside," she said as quoted by TOI.

On Wednesday, while both of them were travelling in the autorickshaw, Geetaben jumped off the vehicle and was rescued by the 181 Abhayam women's helpline. While she has refused to file a complaint against the man saying she loves him, the helpline has summoned the man and asked him to mend his ways.
