Vadodara, November 29: In a tragic incident, three contract workers died after a fire broke out in PBR2 (polybutadiene rubber) plant of the Reliance Industries Limited at its Vadodara complex on Thursday. According to reports, the fire was restricted to one section of the plant and doused by the plant’s fire-fighting team. The deceased have been identified as Arun Dabhi, Pritesh Patel and Mahendra Jadav. The accident took place around 3 am. According to a report published in The Indian Express, at the time of the incident, only three employees were inside the plant, while rest had gone for snacks. One of the deceased, Dhabi was working at the same factory for the last 20 years on a contractual basis as a plant operator and supervisor. Reliance Industries confirmed that three workers died in the mishap. In a statement, it said that three contract workers who were injured later succumbed to injuries, despite the best efforts of the medical team. Reliance Industries Limited has also ordered an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, the rest of the complex is continuing with normal operations.
