Ahmedabad, June 17: A shocking incident of murder has come to light from Gujarat, where a man allegedly killed his two-year-old daughter for crying incessantly. The alleged incident came to light when the accused, identified as Mukesh Valmiki (25), a ragpicker, was caught by walkers who later handed him over to cops. Police officials said that Valmiki strangled his daughter to death as she was crying inconsolably.
According to a report in the Times of India, the alleged murder occurred on Wednesday night, June 12, at Khedbrahma in Sabarkantha. The accused was reportedly caught by walkers near the bridge over the Harnav River, where he dumped his daughter's body near a pillar. Cops said that Valmiki killed his child as he was unable to calm his daughter, who was unwell and crying continuously. Child Declared Brought Dead at Hospital
Soon after Valmiki was caught, the walkers rushed the child to Khedbrahma Civil Hospital, where she was declared brought dead. After the incident, the postmortem report revealed that the child's lungs and respiratory system were damaged due to strangling as the cause of her death. Acting on a complaint filed by head constable Sunil Parmar, the police booked Valmiki for murder.
Accused was Unable to Feed his Daughter
During the preliminary investigation, cops learned that Valmiki lived on the footpath in Khedbrahma. A few years ago, the accused had met a woman, and the two were living together. The woman had delivered a baby whom they named Khushi. A few months after Khushi's birth, the woman left Valmiki, who was left to fend for himself and his daughter. However, Valmiki was not able to feed the child, due to which her health deteriorated over time. On June 12, Khushi developed a fever and began crying inconsolably. Fed up over the child's constant crying, Valmiki decided to kill his daughter. After his arrest, Valmiki has been sent to judicial custody.
