The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday arrested two Pakistani fishermen from Vanvari Creek of Gujarat’s Kutch district near the Indo-Pak border. The BSF also seized their boats.
Kutch, February 6: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday arrested two Pakistani fishermen from Vanvari Creek of Gujarat’s Kutch district near the Indo-Pak border. The BSF also seized their boats. The fishermen were arrested during the evening time when they had entered Indian Territory, violating the international boundary, for fishing. According to reports, The Pakistan fishermen had ventured into the Indian-side of the border, yesterday, at 5:15 pm. Further details on the same incident are still awaited. In a similar incident, a Pakistan boat was seized from the same location on January 11. That time, after being spotted by the BSF patrol boats, fishermen fled from the spot. Several personal belongings of Pakistani fishers were also recovered from the captured vessel.
In the past too, several Pakistani fishers have been caught while fishing in the Indian side of the creek. Given the sensitive nature of the area, even Indian fishermen are barred from catching fish in the area near the creek.
