Gujarat: 30-Year-Old Man Stabbed By Minor Niece And Her Paramour In Surat; Case Registered

A 30-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by his 17-year-old niece and her boyfriend in Gujarat’s Surat district on Saturday night. The victim has been identified as Maheshbhai. He was rescued by passersby and was shifted to a hospital. A complaint was lodged against 17-year-old Payal and her boyfriend.

Surat, December 14: A 30-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by his 17-year-old niece and her boyfriend in Gujarat’s Surat district on Saturday night. The victim has been identified as Maheshbhai. He was rescued by passersby and was shifted to a hospital. A complaint was lodged against 17-year-old Payal and her boyfriend. Maheshbhai lives with his family in the area. According to a report published in The Times of India, the victim’s widowed sister-in-law and his two nieces also live in the same area. He was against Payal’s relationship with the boy. The boy also reportedly started living with the girl’s family almost six months ago.

As per the report, on the day of the incident, Maheshbahi was standing at the underpass near Sahara gate in the night. He then saw Payal with the boy. He told Payal not to meet her boyfriend and asked her to go home. The argument broke out between Maheshbhai and the couple. They reportedly took out knives. The girl stabbed the victim in his stomach. After committing the crime, the accused fled from the spot. On the basis of the complaint lodged by Maheshbhai, a case has been registered against the couple under sections 324 and 326 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 135 of the Gujarat Police Act. An investigation has been launched into the matter.
