Delhi, November 20: A 25-year-old groom on Monday night was allegedly shot by two unidentified people when his baraat was heading towards the wedding venue in south Delhi’s Madangir. The survivor identified as Badal, sustained bullet injuries on his right shoulder after which he was rushed to the nearby hospital for the treatment. After the three hours of treatment, he returned to the wedding venue and completed all the rituals.
South Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vijay Kumar while speaking to Hindustan Times said that Badal was again admitted to the hospital for treatment after the wedding ceremonies were completed. The incident took place Monday night at 10 pm when Badal was on his way to the wedding venue. Badal in his statement to police told that two unidentified assailants approached towards the wedding procession and later climbed on the carriage and fired at him on the right shoulder. Police have registered the case against the unidentified people under the relevant sections of IPC and investigating the matter.
