New Delhi, January 7: Months after Article 370 was scrapped and Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into two union territories, a delegation of ambassadors from 15-20 countries will visit Kashmir. According to news agency ANI, India will take foreign envoys to Kashmir to show the ground situation. The visit is likely to take place on January 9-10, 2020. The envoys that will be taken to Kashmir are expected to be from Europe, Central Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. According to reports, efforts are on to rope in officials from P5 countries like the United States, Frace, the United Kingdom and Russia.

The envoys will be taken to Kashmir valley where they will be briefed by security forces about the involvement of Pakistan in spreading terrorism in the union territory. They will be also meet Lt Governor GC Murmu and other officials before returning to Delhi.
Last year, India took 23 European Union Parliamentarians. It was the first such visit of the foreign delegation after the abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. Before their visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval had met the delegation and spoke about development in Jammu and Kashmir and cross-border terrorism.
