Mumbai, November 9: Gold and silver prices moved higher today on Monday. On MCX, gold futures were up 0.45 percent to Rs 52,404 per 10 gram while silver surged 1.5 percent to Rs 66,309 per kg, according to a Livemint report. The prices are rising ahead of Dhanteras 2020. Dhanteras is considered an auspicious occasion to buy precious metals.

Gold prices moved up around Rs 1,500 per 10 gram over five days. On the other hand, silver had logged a weekly gain of about Rs 4,000 per kg. The spot gold price today(Rs 52,200) is higher than this week's average of Rs 51,640 by 1.08 percent. The price was higher than Sunday's value of Rs 52,190. The spot gold price in India, as well as global, saw a growth. The spot gold prices in the Indian market grew by a lesser rate of 0.02 percent as compared to global gold prices of 0.22 percent.
