Mumbai, October 30: According to reports, the prices of gold have surged 33 per cent to INR 81,400 per 10 grams in the national capital as compared to INR 61,200 on Dhanteras in 2023, which was celebrated on November 11. Having said that, jewellers are expecting more footfalls in online and offline stores as Dhanteras is being celebrated on two days as the festival has been split over to today, October 30, till 1.11 PM. Despite witnessing a rise in price, the yellow metal rates continue to be the focus for many who are planning to purchase gold during the festival season.

According to Good Returns, the price of gold across the country as of today is INR 7,376 per gram for 22-karat gold and INR 8,046 per gram for 24-karat gold. On the other hand, silver is priced at INR 99.10 per gram and INR 99,100 per kilogram in India. However, it must be noted that the prices of gold differ from city to city and depend on several factors. Ramesh Kalyanarama, Executive Director of Kalyan Jewellers, said that demand has remained strong despite higher gold prices. He also said that conservative buyers had favoured Shagun coins for the festive season, while youngsters showed interest in lightweight or 18-karat coins. As gold continues to remain one of the best forms of investment, it also holds symbolic significance as families come together to celebrate festivals and the wedding season.
