Mumbai, December 22: Chandigarh bound GoAir flight G8-2506 did an air turn back to Mumbai on Sunday at 5:52 pm due to a technical glitch. The aircraft, a Pratt and Whitney engine-powered Airbus A320 Neo, made a safe landing at Mumbai airport minutes after its take-off. GoAir engineering team is inspecting the aircraft. On Wednesday, An IndiGo was removed from a runway after smoke was detected in Udaipur-Bengaluru flight before take-off from Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur. According to reports, minutes before the take-off smoke was seen emerging out of the cabin area. The Indigo flight 6E 979, an Airbus A320neo, was delayed for two hours due to the incident.

Earlier in November this year, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had suspended a GoAir pilot who landed GoAir airline's plane outside the runway in adverse weather conditions. The Airbus A320 commercial jet, which was involved in the incident, was carrying 180 people. The crew members onboard the GoAir flight G8-811 were also grounded.
