Panaji, October 31: At least 26 passengers have been injured after an overloaded bus turned turtle in Goa on Wednesday. According to a tweet by ANI, the bus overturned after hitting a car near a military camp in Margao. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far. According to statistical data by the government on road accidents, in 2017, a total of 464,910 road accidents were reported in the country. The accidents claimed 1,47,913 lives and over 4,70,975 people were injured. The accidents led to 405 deaths and 1,290 injuries each day from 1,274 accidents.

Earlier this month, two women were hit by a car, reportedly belonging to the son of a Goa MLA on National Highway 4A in Belgaum, Karnataka. As per details by Police, officials confirmed the death of a 26-year-old, while the other woman has sustained injuries in a case of rash and negligent driving.

On Monday, two youths lost their lives after their motorcycle collided with a speeding truck near Korrum village of Uttar Pradesh. The deceased, identified as Rajiv Patel (20) and Shiv Autar (19) were rushed to a hospital after the accident but succumbed to their injuries later. Police informed that the truck driver has been arrested.
