Gautam Gambhir Denies Circulating Offensive Pamphlet Against Atishi, Challenges Arvind Kejriwal And AAP to Prove His Role

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir on Thursday rejected Aam Aadmi Party's allegations that he distributed pamphlets containing derogatory remarks against her AAP rival Atishi and dared Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's party to prove its charges.

New Delhi, May 9: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir on Thursday rejected Aam Aadmi Party's allegations that he distributed pamphlets containing derogatory remarks against her AAP rival Atishi and dared Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's party to prove its charges. "If they can get a proof, I'll resign right now & if they get a proof by 23rd I'll resign on that particular day. But if Arvind Kejriwal does not get the proof, does he accept the challenge that he will leave politics forever on 23rd?, " Gambhir was quoted saying news agency ANIManish Sisodia Gets Election Commission's Notice Over His Tweet on Atishi's Religion.

The former Indian cricketer also said that he will file a defamation case against the people who are accusing him. "You can't tarnish someone's image just like that, if you don't have the proof. I have never given a negative statement against anyone so far in my election campaigning," former Indian Cricketer said.

A copy of the pamphlet is going viral on the internet. The content, highly defamatory in nature, is distributed in East Delhi parliamentary seat with aim of defaming Atish's image before the votes.

Earlier today, Atishi Marlena broke down while reading a pamphlet containing "derogatory" remarks against her that she claimed has been distributed by Gautam Gambhir. "I never thought he would stoop so low," Atishi said as she broke down. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia demanded the Election Commission (EC) to take stringent action against the BJP candidate.

Meanwhile, Delhi Commission for Women has taken suo-motu cognizance and written to East Delhi DCP over reports of a pamphlet being circulated against AAP candidate.
