Varanasi, July 15: Five months after Indian Air Force (IAF) Squadron Leader Samir Abrol lost his life in an air crash at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) airport in Bengaluru, his wife Garima Abrol cleared the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview from Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) in Varanasi. Garima will join the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Telangana’s Dundigal in 2020 and will be commissioned into the IAF in 2021. Mirage 2000 Trainer Fighter Aircraft of HAL Crashes in Bengaluru, Both Pilot Dead.

Sdn Ldr Abrol along with and Sqn Ldr Siddhartha Negi, died after a Mirage-2000 trainer aircraft crashed at HAL airport in Bengaluru on February 1 this year. Garime abrol Clears SSB Interview:

After the demise of her husband, Garima posted an emotional message on her Instagram. She wrote, “My tears are still not dry and I loved sending my husband to serve the nation with a cup of tea and head held high.” During an interview with the author Swapnil Pandey, Garima said, “I really want to see what life looks like in his shoes. Legacy has to move on. Wearing the same uniform also gives me a motive to sustain.”

Days after Sqn Ldr Abrol’s demise, his brother Sushant Abrol had penned down an emotional poem alleging that corruption in the bureaucracy took his brother’s life. He had also blamed the government for the tragic incident. Through his poem Sushant had targeted the central leadership for not caring about the lives of soldiers.
