Mumbai, September 12: Railway authorities have decided to run special mid-night trains on the western line of Mumbai local network to accommodate the rush of Lord Ganesha devotees on the intervening night of September 12 and 13. The Western Railway will run eight special suburban trains between Churchgate and Virar and vice-versa to avoid any inconvenience to people during Ganesh Immersion. The first special mid-night train will depart from Churchgate station at 01:15 am and will reach Virar at 02:50 am on September 13. The last train towards Virar will depart from Churchgate station at 03:20 am on Friday. Similarly, the last train from Virar station is at 03:00 am on September 13 and will reach Churchgate at 04:40 am.

Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the most popular Hindu festivals, which began on September 2, culminates today with Ganesha visarjan or immersion. Many people immerse Ganesha idols on 3rd, 5th or 7th day, the 11th day, also known as Ananth Chaturdashi is the most significant day for Ganpati visarjan.
