Delhi, September 4: The freshly constructed Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi will host the 18th G20 Summit the following week. Authorities in the national capital have made considerable preparations to welcome delegations from across the world, including more than 25 heads of state and heads of international organisations. Delhi Police has also given directives for the movement of the Delhi Metro in a recent order to ensure seamless operations during the summit. From September 8 to 10, when India will be hosting the G20 Summit, several metro station gates will stay locked for security reasons.

The police have ordered that all traffic would be stopped at the following metro stations: Moti Bagh, Bhikaji Cama Place, Munirka, RK Puram, IIT, and Sadar Bazar Cantonment. These metro stations do not permit passenger entry or departure. G20 Summit 2023: Traffic Advisory Issued Ahead of Mega Summit Full Dress Rehearsals on August 2 in Delhi.

The Dhaula Kuan, Khan Market, Janpath, Supreme Court, and Bhikaji Cama Place metro stations are still on the police's list of critical locations. Additionally, the closest metro stop to the location, Supreme Court Metro stop, will continue to be entirely closed. The Delhi Metro will continue to run regularly except from certain gates.

From the evening of September 7 to the evening of September 11, commuters are recommended to take the metro when travelling to the Delhi airport. The Delhi Metro previously stated that from September 4 to 13, special kiosks at 36 stations will offer "Tourist Smart Cards." These cards are accessible on ordinary days as well, but in anticipation of the G20 Summit, specialised counters have been opened that will begin selling these cards for a 10-day period on Monday.

Kashmere Gate, Chandni Chowk, Chawri Bazar, New Delhi, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Lok Kalyan Marg, and Supreme Court metro stations are among the 36 locations where these cards would be offered at designated kiosks. G20 Summit 2023: Delhi Police's Dog Squad Practices Detection of Dummy Explosives (Watch Video).
