Fuel Rates Today: Petrol And Diesel Increase by 18 Paise and 29 Paise Respectively in Delhi, Petrol Price Above Rs 87 in Mumbai
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday had announced that petrol and diesel prices will be cut by Rs 2.50 per litre with immediate effect.
Petrol and Diesel prices in Delhi are Rs 81.68 per litre, an increase by 18 paise and Rs 73.24 per litre, an increase by 29 paise, respectively. Petrol and Diesel prices in Mumbai are Rs 87.15 per litre, an increase by 18 paise, and Rs 76.75, a decrease by 70 paise respectively. In an urgent media briefing over concerns on the rising fuel, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday had announced that petrol and diesel prices will be cut by Rs 2.50 per litre with immediate effect. He said that while the Centre has cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 1.50 per litre, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) will further reduce prices by Re 1 per litre. Several BJP ruled states announced a further cut of Rs 2.50 per litre, giving the consumer a total relief of Rs 5 per litre. However, the prices were not exactly down on Friday by Rs 5, due to the price rise today in dynamic pricing programme.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who announced the reduction in prices through his Twitter handle, said: “This would give huge relief to common citizens. The net effect to the people in Maharashtra will be a reduced price of Rs 5 per litre (on petrol prices).”
