Mumbai, September 29: Fuel rates reached new record highs on Saturday, September 29, with petrol and diesel rising by 18 paise per litre and 22 paise per litre respectively. While petrol price neared Rs 91 per litre mark in Mumbai, diesel price neared Rs 80 per litre. The price of petrol in Mumbai today was Rs 90.75 per litre while the price of diesel was Rs 79.23 per litre. Check yesterday's fuel prices.

In Delhi, the price of petrol today was Rs 83.40 per litre while the cost of diesel was Rs 74.63 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol was being sold at Rs 85.21 per litre while diesel was being sold at Rs 76.48 per litre. Experts in the oil industry have speculated that prices of petrol could hit a 'century' (Rs 100 mark) in Mumbai well before Diwali. Meanwhile, looking at the current scenario of the rising fuel prices, the oil companies have started upgrading their fuel dispensers to ensure that they display correct prices when rates reach Rs 100 per litre.
