New Delhi, November 4: The fuel prices have continued to decrease on Sunday. In Mumbai, petrol price today was dropped by 0.21 paisa per litre, taking the price to a new low Rs 84.28 per litre, while the prices of diesel was Rs Rs 76.88 per litre which is also dropped by 0.18 paisa, Meanwhile in Delhi, petrol is Rs 78.78 per litre and diesel is being sold at Rs 73.36 per litre.

Earlier on Saturday following the price cut, petrol and diesel witnessed a drop of 0.10 paise in Mumbai and Delhi. On the other hand, the diesel price was decreased by 0.11 on Friday and 0.12 paisa on Thursday. The relief in fuel prices comes after the relentless hike across the country. Fuel Prices Break Record! Earlier Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Garg had said that the increase in fuel prices are temporary and it's not under the control of Indian government and were determined by International forces. He said, "The crude (oil price) had gone down to the level of USD 70 per barrel and it is back to USD 74-75, it should be temporary. It is coming out of some countries not able to produce so I hope it remains temporary. We will be able to come back USD 70-71 per barrel soon."

Earlier in October, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced a reduction of Rs 2.50 per litre on both diesel and petrol after decreasing the excise duty charge by Rs 1.50 per litre. Before the decreasing spell, the petrol had hit an all-time high of Rs Rs 84 per litre and diesel was at record Rs 75.45 in Delhi. While in Mumbai petrol was sold at Rs 91.34 and diesel and Rs 80.10 per litre.
