New Delhi, January 20: Consumers continue to feel the pinch as fuel prices continue to rise with each passing day since the last week. In Delhi, petrol price was increased by Rs 0.23 and was retailed at Rs 70.95/litre while diesel price was hiked by Rs 0.23 and was priced at Rs 65.45/litre. In Mumbai, petrol price was hiked by Rs. 0.23 and was being sold at Rs 76.58/litre while the price of diesel was increased by Rs. 0.31 and was sold at Rs 68.53/litre on Saturday.
On Saturday, petrol was retailed at Rs. 70.72/litre in the national capital while diesel was sold at Rs. 65.16/litre. In Mumbai, petrol was hiked by Rs. 0.17/litre on Saturday and was retailed at Rs 76.35/litre while diesel was hiked by Rs. 0.20 and was sold at Rs. 68.22/litre. Fuel prices have been witnessing a relentless hike since January 7 despite a dip in fuel prices in the last week of 2018. Experts believe that the recent hike prices has gripped the nation during the revision of global crude oil prices owing to a possible stifling of supply in the near future.
On January 16, petrol prices witnessed a marginal drop of 8 paise in the national capital while diesel was reported to be continuing with its upward trend following a hike of 12 paise. After the dip in price, petrol was retailed at Rs 70.33 and diesel was sold at Rs 64.59 per litre in Delhi.
