Fuel Prices in India Continue to Rise, Petrol Sold at Rs 73.91 Per Litre in Delhi, Rs. 79.57 Per Litre in Mumbai, Check Rates in Metros
Petrol and diesel prices again witnessed an increase on Monday across the country. In Delhi, the petrol prices rose by 27 paise, and it is retailing at Rs Rs 73.91. Similarly, petrol prices in other three metro cities – Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. In Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 79.57.
Mumbai, September 23: Petrol and diesel prices continued an upward trend across the country even on Monday. In Delhi, the petrol price rose by 27 paise, and it is retailing at Rs 73.91 per litre. Similarly, petrol prices in other three metro cities – Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata surged on September 23. In Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 79.57 per litre, with an increase of 28 paise. In Kolkata and Chennai also, petrol prices surged by 28 and 31 paise and it is retailing at Rs 76.60 per litre and Rs 76.83 per litre respectively. Similarly, diesel prices also witnessed an increase in prices across the nation. Diesel price in Delhi and Mumbai is increased by 21 paise. It is being sold at Rs 66.93 per litre in Delhi and 70.22 per liter in Mumbai. Similarly, in Kolkata and Chennai, diesel is retailing at Rs 69.35 per litre and Rs 70.76 per litre respectively, with an increase of 20 paise each. Check today's fuel prices here:
Fuel prices in other major cities including Gurugram, Noida, Chandigarh and Bangalore were also increased. It the seventh consecutive when the fuel prices were increased. In the last seven days, the prices were increased by Rs 1.80 across the country after the attack on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. According to reports, the attack disrupted five percent of the global supply. The domestic fuel prices are mainly determined by the dollar-rupee exchange rate and global crude oil prices. According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), India is currently ranked behind the United States and China as the world's third-largest oil consumer.
