Fuel Price in India Today: Petrol at Rs. 70.47/litre & Diesel at Rs. 64.78/litre in Delhi; Know the Prices in Other Metro Cities

On Wednesday, petrol in Delhi was priced at Rs 70.47/litre, an increase by Rs 0.14 while diesel was sold for Rs 64.78/litre, which an increase by Rs 0.19 from Tuesday.

New Delhi, January 17: After a marginal drop in fuel prices on Wednesday, petrol and diesel prices in India continued to witness an upward trend on Thursday. On Thursday, petrol in Delhi was priced at Rs 70.47/litre, an increase by Rs 0.14 while diesel was sold for Rs 64.78/litre, which an increase by Rs 0.19 from what it was on Wednesday. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, petrol price was hiked by Rs. 0.20 and was sold at Rs 76.11/litre while diesel was sold Rs. 67.82/litre, an increase by Rs. 0.20. Petrol Prices Slashed Marginally, Diesel Hiked For Seventh Consecutive Day on January 16.

On Wednesday, petrol prices in Delhi saw a dip after six days and was retailed at Rs 70.33 per litre while diesel in the national capital was retailed at Rs 64.59/litre.  In Mumbai, petrol was priced at Rs. 75.97/litre after the decrease while diesel was sold at Rs 67.62/litre. Petrol, Diesel Prices Rise For Sixth Consecutive Day on January 15; Check Fuel Rates in Metros.

It was during the last week of 2018, where the nation saw a dip in fuel prices. However, prices of petrol and diesel have been on the rise since January 7. According to reports, the hike in prices comes amidst the revision of global crude oil prices owing to a possible stifling of supply in the near future.
