Fuel Price in India Continue to Rise, Petrol at Rs 70.72 per Litre in Delhi, Rs 76.35 per Litre in Mumbai
In Delhi, petrol price was hiked by Rs 0.17/litre and was being sold at Rs. 70.72/litre while diesel was hiked by Rs. 0.19 at Rs. 65.16/litre.
New Delhi, January 19: Fuel prices continued their daily rising trend even on Saturday with petrol being retailed at Rs. 70.72/litre in the national capital. In Delhi, petrol price was hiked by Rs 0.17/litre and was being sold at Rs. 70.72/litre while diesel was hiked by Rs. 0.19 at Rs. 65.16/litre. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, petrol was hiked by Rs. 0.17/litre and was retailed at Rs 76.35/litre while diesel was hiked by Rs. 0.20 and was sold at Rs. 68.22/litre.
On Friday, petrol was sold at Rs 70.55 in Delhi while diesel was priced at Rs. 64.97/litre. In Mumbai, petrol rates were hiked by Rs. 0.07/litre and was retailed at Rs. 76.18/litre while diesel was being sold at Rs. 68.02/litre. It is since January 7 that fuel prices across India have been on a rise despite a dip in fuel prices in the last week of 2018. According to reports, the recent hike prices comes during the revision of global crude oil prices owing to a possible stifling of supply in the near future.
In January, it was only on January 16 that petrol prices witnessed a marginal drop of 8 paise in Delhi. Diesel, however, continued its upward trend following a hike of 12 paise. After the drop, petrol was retailed at Rs 70.33 and diesel was sold at Rs 64.59 per litre in Delhi.
