Gorakhpur, September 27: Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Dev Vrat has said that the milk of foreign cows like Jersey and Holstein Friesian causes high blood pressure and aggression. He has advised people to go for Indian cow's milk for good health. He said this while speaking on the subject of 'Importance of cows in Sanatan Hindu Dharma' at Gorakhnath temple. How India's Cows Can Save the Earth - by Feeding on Seaweed.

The Himachal Governor made this statement on the ongoing anniversary programme of Mahant Avaidyanath and Mahant Digvijaynath, the former chief priest of Gorakhnath temple. Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and current head priest of the temple, were also present at the event.

Acharya Dev Vrat, who has more than 300 cows in his 200-acre farm, also shared information about the indigenous manure, 'Jeev Amrit', using cow dung and urine. Adding to his statement, he said just one desi cow can cover almost 30 acres, while 20 foreign cows like Jersey and Holstein Friesian will be required to meet the manure requirement for just one acre of the farm.

He said that research conducted on Hisar, Kurukshetra and Naini universities revealed that desi cow's dung has more fertility-boosting micro-organisms compared to foreign cow’s dung.
