For Fifth Year in a Row, PM Modi to Celebrate Diwali With Army Jawans

This Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be spending the auspicious festival of Diwali with troops on the China frontier.

New Delhi, November 6: This Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be spending the auspicious festival of Diwali with troops on the China frontier. It is reported that PM Modi will celebrate Diwali with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force at Harsil in Uttarakhand. According to the report, PM Modi will first visit Kedarnath temple for reviewing the ongoing development work there and while returning he will be spending time with ITBP jawans in Harsil station.

It is also reported that he will be meeting Indian Army troops. Harsil station is situated 8000 ft above the sea level and is close to India China border and famous spiritual place 'Yamunotri Dham'. Earlier today, Modi arrived at Gurez to celebrate Diwali with army and Border Security Force soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC). Nirmala Sitharaman to Celebrate Diwali 2018 With Army Jawans Posted at China Border in Arunachal Pradesh.

This is the fifth consecutive Diwali that PM Modi will be celebrating with jawans. In 2014,  he celebrated this auspicious festival with Army troops in Siachen. In 2015, PM Modi celebrated Diwali with BSF soldiers at the LoC near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab, while in 2016, he spent it with ITBP troops in Himachal Pradesh. Last year, the Prime Minister rejoiced Diwali with jawans posted along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Gurez.
