Agra, September 25: In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh, a man allegedly attacked his wife with an axe during an argument in Agra. After injuring his wife, the accused went on to kill his two-year-old son with an axe before fleeing Jematpur village. The horrific incident occurred on Monday, September 23, under the jurisdiction of Nagla Khangar police station in Firozabad district.
The Times of India reports that the accused has been identified as Narendra Kumar. Cops said that Kumar worked in Delhi, and the family had recently returned to the Jematpur village with him. The alleged incident occurred on Monday at around 11 PM when a dispute between Kumar and his wife Renu (26) escalated. Post this, Kumar assaulted and attacked Renu with an axe, thereby leaving her unconscious and covered in blood. Believing that his wife was dead, Kumar went on to attack his son and killed Kittu (2) before fleeing the village. Cops said that the alleged murder came to light when villagers rushed to the scene and alerted the police after hearing the commotion.
Cops reached the spot and rushed the victims to the hospital. However, Kittu was pronounced dead, while his mother, Renu, was shifted to Agra for further treatment. Meanwhile, police inspector Girish Kumar said that they have asked Renu's father to file a complaint against the accused. They have also launched a search operation to nab Kumar, who continues to remain absconding. While the child's body has been sent for post-mortem, Renu was referred to SN Medical College in Agra.
