A major fire broke out on the top floor of the Sea Springs building at Mumbai's posh Bandstand area in Bandra.
Mumbai, March 19: A major fire broke out on the top floor of the Sea Springs building at Mumbai's posh Bandstand area in Bandra on Thursday. According to initial reports, one person lost her life and another was critically injured in the fire at Sea Springs building. Visuals from the sport showed thick black smoke and tall flames emanating from the top floor of the Sea Springs apartments. 30 Shanties Gutted in Fire in Pune Slum, None Hurt.
The Sea Sprints building is near Mannat bungalow, the residence of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The deceased was identified as 20-year-old Evana Morrece. One Sifra Japhari was seriously injured in the fire. She was admitted in ICU ward of the Bhabha hospital. The cause of the fire was not immediately known. The blaze erupted in Sea Spring building around 7.30 am, a civic official said.
"After being alerted, the fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and doused the blaze in some time. Two women were later rescued from the flat and they were immediately rushed to the nearby Bhabha Hospital," the official of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
