Surat, August 31: A massive fire took place in Surat's Mayur Silk Mills in Pandesara in Surat. The incident was reported on Saturday morning. Currently, 18 fire tenders are present at the spot. The fire fighting department is taking all measures to ensure that the fire does not spread to other areas. The fire has been partially brought under control, said reports. The fire took place in a cloth factory at Pandesara in Surat. The area is an industrial complex with several factories around.

The locals were alarmed after they saw smoke emanating from the cloth factory. Soon, they informed the fire fighters about the fire incident. The fire tenders rushed to the spot and started the operations to bring the flames under control.
The fire has been brought under control partially and the fire tenders are trying to make the factory fire-free. Thick plumes of smoke emanated from the factory, reported eye witnesses. The repeated incidents of fire in Surat has got the administration worried as demands are raised for enhancing the fire-fighting mechanism.
