Fire Erupts at Crawford Market in Mumbai, No Casualties Reported
The cause of the fire, which reportedly broke out at a shop in Crawford Market, was not immediately known.
Mumbai, April 22: A fire erupted at Crawford Market in south Mumbai on Monday morning. Four fire tenders were at the spot and firefighters were trying to douse raging fire.
The fire broke out at Super shopping market on Abdul Rahman street behind Jumma Masjid at 10:57 am, fire officials said. The cause of the blaze was not immediately known. There was no immediate report of any casualty either.
Following the fire, the area was evacuated and a rescue operation was underway. Crawford Market, also known as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai, is one of South Mumbai's most famous markets.
