Fire at ONGC Plant: Blaze Hits Mumbai’s CNG, PNG Gas Supply
Following a deadly fire at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) at Uran near Mumbai, the gas supply to the Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) city gate station in Mumbai's Wadala has been severely affected.
Mumbai, September 3: Following a deadly fire at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) at Uran near Mumbai, the gas supply to the Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) city gate station in Mumbai's Wadala has been severely affected. MGL, which supplies domestic, industrial and vehicular gas, said that many CNG stations will not operate due to low pressure in the pipeline. “Due to a major fire at ONGC's gas processing facility at Uran today morning, gas supply to MGL's City Gate Station at Wadala has been severely affected," tweeted MGL.Mumbai: Fire Breaks Out in Byculla Timberyard, 8 Fire Engines at Spot.
"MGL is ensuring that supply to its domestic PNG consumers would be maintained on priority without interruption. Gas supplies across MLG's network will normalise one the supply of natural gas from ONGC is restored," the tweet read.

Mahanagar Gas Limited supplies gas to over 1.2 million households, 4,000 small commercial establishments, 74 industrial establishments and 0.7 million vehicles.
At least four people died and three more were injured after a huge fire broke out at ONGC plant in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday morning. The cops have sealed the one-kilometre area around the plant. Around 12 fire tenders were rushed the spot.
