Ahmedabad, December 28: Fire broke out inside the sprawling campus of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) office in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on Friday. According to a tweet by ANI, a total of five fire tenders have been rushed at the spot. No details of casualties have been reported so far. The exact cause of the fire was not yet known, the fire official added. More details awaited. The fire was extinguished by the fire department within hours.

In May this year, a similar fire incident was reported from ISRO's space laboratories in Ahmedabad. The city's fire department had said that the blaze broke out possibly due to a short circuit in ISRO's major facility, which is called the Space Applications Centre (SAC).

In the major fire that took place in May, no casualties were reported and the blaze was doused within a couple of hours. The SAC is believed to be one of the most important hi-tech laboratories of ISRO. According to reports, a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) guard was injured due to inhalation of smoke in the fire incident in May.
