Bengaluru, November 29: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday met the family of Former Union railway minister and senior Congress leader C K Jaffer Sharief in Bengaluru. Veteran leader died following a heart attack at the age of 85 in Bengaluru on November 25, 2018. He was also ailing with some age-related problems. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley expressed his condolence in a message on Twitter and wrote "Condolences on the sad demise of Shri C. K. Jaffer Sharief Ji, a veteran leader & an exceptional parliamentarian. May God give strength to the bereaved family and supporters. May the departed soul rest in peace." C K Jaffer Sharief, born in Challakere village of Karnataka's Chitradurga district on 3 November 1933, was one of the senior most leaders of Indian National Congress(INC). He was also seven-time Member of Parliament (MP) from Bengaluru North. Jaffer was Union Railway Minister from 1991-1995 under P.V. Narasimha Rao government.
