Chennai, September 9: Two men beat up a software engineer who had been seduced by the promise of a "sandwich massage" and then robbed him of Rs 49,000 in cash and gold. Additionally, the duo used his debit and credit cards to withdraw 2 lakh. According to the police, the Nungambakkam resident and 29-year-old techie scheduled a massage using the free classifieds website Locanto. The techie proceeded to a room in Nungambakkam, as advised by those he spoke with, where he was waiting for his masseuses when the two guys stormed in.
He was attacked and stripped of his gold chain, gold ring, and Rs 4,000 in cash from his wallet. On July 4, at 12 in the morning, the man received a video call from the woman in which she reportedly undressed and secretly taped the conversation. Later, the woman threatened to send the video tape to his parents and emailed it to him. The guy then sent Rs. 1,14,00,000 to the woman's two bank accounts and four numbers.
