Chandigarh, November 9: Residents in several sectors of Faridabad will experience a 24-hour disruption in water supply due to essential work on a rainwater pipeline along the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) has announced that the 900 mm rainwater supply pipeline number three will be shut down from 9 AM on November 11 until 9 AM on November 12.
No drinking water will be provided from this line during this period. The shutdown is necessary to complete the interconnection between pipeline number three and pipeline number four. FMDA spokesperson Neha Sharma explained that while the rainwater line has already been installed, the final connections have yet to be completed. This is not the first instance of water supply disruption due to pipeline work in Faridabad. From October 7 to October 9, the city faced a 48-hour water supply interruption for similar reasons related to the rainwater line connection. Neha Sharma also stated that this rainwater pipeline runs from the Yamuna River and passes through several villages, with work underway to replace 500 meters of the existing line.
