Faridabad, August 21: A father-son duo allegedly stabbed a Delhi Police home guard to death in Faridabad's village. The altercation, which reportedly escalated from a disagreement over open bathing, occurred on Saturday evening, August 19. The victim, Dharampal Kashyap (50), had recently returned home from work when the confrontation took place outside his residence in Garkheda village at around 7 pm. According to the Times of India reports, Pawan Kaushik and his son Ajay approached Dharampal, leading to an argument that quickly turned violent.
Amid the heated exchange, one of the accused produced a small sword and stabbed Dharampal in the chest. As the victim collapsed, the assailants fled the scene. Dharampal's elder son, Dipanshu (14), provided a detailed account, revealing that the assailants concealed the weapon under their clothing, catching them off guard. After the attack, Dharampal was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Dayalpur and subsequently referred to Badshah Khan Hospital. Tragically, he was pronounced dead on arrival. Bharat Kaushik (25), Dharampal's nephew, divulged that a longstanding feud existed between the families. The dispute centred around the accused's children bathing in the open, despite repeated objections by Dharampal. The resulting waterlogging caused inconvenience to others, leading to a clash of perspectives. Around 15 days before the incident, Dharampal had allegedly confronted the duo, urging them to discontinue the open bathing practice. However, the confrontation escalated into verbal abuse. Neighbours attested to Dharampal's mild-mannered nature, sharing that he opted not to engage in confrontations with his neighbours over the matter. The tensions reportedly extended to construction work being carried out in Dharampal's house, where he was constructing a bathroom. The consistent water usage for open bathing was said to have compromised the construction, aggravating the situation further. Dharampal, who was a doting father to his four children, had lost his wife 12 years ago.
Despite the tragedy, there has been frustration over the lack of immediate action by the police. The accused remain at large even after 24 hours. The Chhainsa police station has registered a case against the two individuals under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intentions), along with relevant provisions of the Arms Act.
