Informing more about the action, Jammu and Kashmir Principal Secretary (Planning Commission), R Kansal said, as quoted by ANI, "Due cognisance has been taken of all the fake Twitter handles and of any items which create disaffection. It is being tackled at the appropriate level legally, procedurally and through appropriate measures."
Along with this, Kansal also opined that disturbances in the Valley are not new. He said, "We saw disturbances in the state in 2008 and 2016 too. There were 37 deaths in 1st week of 2016, but in the last 1 week, there hasn't been a single casualty. By imposing reasonable restrictions at least we've been able to save human lives."
Earlier on August 5, the Centre abrogated the special provisions of Jammu and Kashmir, granted to it under Article 370. Also, it divided the state into two separate Union territories - i) Jammu and Kashmir, and ii) Ladakh.
