Fake Medical Degree Racket in Mumbai Busted, Doctor Held for Duping Students

The Agripada police have arrested a female doctor for allegedly running a fake medical degree certificate racket. Dr Snehal Nyati, operating in Mumbai, was arrested from Nashik on November 10.

Mumbai, November 12: The Agripada police have arrested a female doctor for allegedly running a fake medical degree certificate racket. Dr Snehal Nyati, operating in Mumbai, was arrested from Nashik on November 10. The scam was unearthed by the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) after 57 doctors from across the state had submitted the fake post graduation documents. During police investigations, it was found that Dr Nyati took Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for the fake certificates of Physicians and Surgeons (CPS). Man Posing as Doctor at AIIMS Arrested: Police.

When MMC started verification of the graduation as well as post-graduation certificates of the doctors for registration. They found that 57 applications filed between January 2015 and October 2015 were fake. All these doctors had submitted certificates from College Of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai. We sent the documents to the CPS for verification but they told us all the documents were forged," said Police officials to mid-day.

During the investigations, it was revealed that many of this doctors haven't attended the college, while some were failed. Most of the doctors were not aware that the certificate is fake and they thought they were real. When MMC called these doctors for inquiry, they all revealed Dr Nyati's name. Later she was arrested and admitted to the crime.
