Mumbai, July 26:  Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will run 180 special non-AC buses from Mumbai to Pune and will ply 24 extra AC Shiv Neri buses till August 10, when premier train services to Pune will be shut. According to a Times of India report, the Central Railways will take up the restoration work after boulders fell in the Karjat and Lonavala line and due to minor landslides in the area. Several trains will be cancelled, short-terminated and diverted. Important trains linking Mumbai and Pune including the Deccan Express and Pragati Express will be cancelled for a fortnight from July 26 to August 9 MSRTC will also deploy more staff for smooth functioning.

The restoration work will be undertaken after there were about half a dozen incidents of falling boulders and minor landslides in the Mumbai-Pune sector in the last few days. This is a very common problem during every monsoon when accidents and major traffic delays take place due to this.

Among the major trains to be cancelled are the Deccan Express, Pragati Express, CSMT Mumbai-Gadag Express, Pune-Panvel passenger train.

As many as 10 trains including the Kolhapur-Mumbai Koyna Express, Mumbai-Kolhapur Sahyadri Express will be operated only up to Pune and will be cancelled between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharashtra Terminus-Pune sector.
