Etawah: Four Persons Crushed To Death by Rajdhani Express While Sitting on Tracks To Beat Heat

The deceased persons were sitting on the tracks to beat the heat when the super fast VVIP Rajdhani Express ran over them.

Etawah, June 10: Four people were crushed to death by Kanpur-Delhi Rajdhani Express near Etawah on Monday. Six others were injured in the incident. The deceased persons were sitting on the tracks to beat the heat when the super fast VVIP Rajdhani Express ran over them at Balrai railway station on the Kanpur-Delhi rail route. A probe has been ordered into the incident.

According to reports, Mumbai-bound Awadh Express halted at Balrai railway station in the loop line to make way for Rajdhani Express. Passengers of Awadh Express, which started from Muzaffarpur in Bihar, came out on the tracks due to the heat inside the train. Rambadan Singh, In-charge Supritendent of Police (SSP), confirmed four deaths and said six people were injured in the incident. The injured persons were rushed to the Saifai hospital, he said. The identities of deceased persons were yet to be ascertained. It was reported that they all hailed from Bihar and were going to Mumbai to earn their living.
