Elephant Turns Violent After Being Hounded by Locals, Kills Forest Official on Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh Border; Watch Video

New Delhi, January 7: In a bizarre incident, an elephant turned violent and killed a forest officer on Monday. According to reports, the forest officer was attacked to death at Shoolagiri on the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border. Reports inform that the official was being attacked by the elephant after he tried to chase it away. According to a video that went viral on social media, the elephant is seen chasing the man, and finally kills the official to death. There have been many similar incidences in the past where people have lost their lives after being attacked by elephants.

In November, a similar incident was reported from Uttarakhand where a man, who was on a morning walk, was killed after being attacked by an elephant. According to details by the eyewitnesses, the elephant chased the 54-year-old man, identified as Virendra Singh. Reports inform that though he made efforts to flee, he failed and was attacked by the elephant. Sexually-Charged Elephant Tramples and Kills Safari Ranger at South African Game Lodge. 

Another similar incident was reported from Jharkhand's Ranchi in November 2018, where a 17-year old elephant in Birsa Biological Park crushed his mahout to death. Following the incident, the park authority locked down the facility for visitors.
