According to testimony from an associate of the drug lord, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman would drug and rape minor, underage victims of sex trafficking some of them were as young as 13-year-olds. His ongoing criminal trial revealed that he sexually abused very young girls, sometimes under the influence of drugs, as per reports by Complex. Court filings that were previously sealed contained the testimony of El Chapo associate and drug trafficker Alex Cifuentes said that Guzman "called the youngest of the girls his 'vitamins' because he believed that sexual activity with young girls gave him 'life.'" The 61-year-old Joaquin Guzman had been extradited to the US last year after he fled the Mexican prison twice. He has been accused of smuggling more than 155 tonnes of cocaine into the US over the past 25 years and has also been accused of directing Colombian drug trafficker Alex Cifuentes who is also a key government co-operator to put the "powdery substances" in the drinks of girls as young as 13.

The prosecutors, however, argued in their motion suppress that portion of his testimony by saying that "Salacious testimony about a witness’s sexual activity with minors is likely to be highly inflammatory, and it would invite the jury to improperly discount [Cifuentes'] testimony by ‘suggest[ing] decision on an improper bias, commonly, though not necessarily, an emotional one,’” as per reports by Complex.
