Kondagaon, March 21: In the times when education is one of the main manifestoes of political parties, an educational institution in Chhattisgarh has been operating in miserable conditions. Classes of a government school in Kondagaon has been operating out of a hut for the years. The condition is so worse that during monsoon the school remains shut.
In the visuals shared by news agency ANI, a school can be seen in almost teared up condition. Nearly 8-10 students, aged around 10-14 years old, in the photo can be seen studying without fans and other necessary amenities. The teacher of the government school, Mansharam, in conversation with ANI, said that government officials only assure that school will be made but no development has been started yet. "I'm teaching here since 2011, then the classes used to be conducted at a house. Authorities only assure us that a building will be made," he said.
Although education in metro cities are good, in rural areas some school struggle for basic necessities. In a similar report from last year, a school in Odisha's Morada has been operating in a hut for the last fifteen years. A teacher, BS Behera said that the condition is so worse that mid-day meal is also prepared at the same hut and classes are impossible during bad weather.
